> Cheeky Monkey's Family Tea Party

The branch's Cheeky Monkeys Tea Party was held on Sunday 1 August with over 40 families attending the event. What a great turnout! Held at the Community Centre and on the Recreation Ground on Islington Road, Towcester, the party ran from 3.30pm to 5.30pm and there was never a dull moment!

The Mayor of Towcester, Jacqueline Hart, came along to give us her support and judge the fancy dress competition as some of the children had come along in fantastic jungle themed outfits. There were toys for the children to play with in the community centre and some great arts and crafts activities and a 'hook a duck' game held in the gazebo. The highlight of the event was the fire engine, with huge thanks to Towcester Fire Service for their time and efforts - the children absolutely loved it! We also had Djembe (Africa) drumming for the kids to have a go. Complete with a BBQ, which was supported by Elliotts Kitchen, and the banana split desserts, courtesy of Waitrose, it was a fun afternoon for all.

Thanks to everyone who came along and supported the NCT at this event. We raised over £300 which was fantastic; all proceeds are being split between the development of the NCT Postnatal Line and our branch. Here's to next year!
