> Coming to the end of a fun-packed year

In May last year, Chris Lofts, Towcester Town Mayor, picked the Towcester and District NCT branch as one of his three charities for his fundraising activities for the year.

Chris is now nearing the end of his year in office: “I have really enjoyed coming to several NCT events during my year. Both Linda, Mayoress, and I look back on the Teddy Bear's Picnic in September last year as a highlight of our year. I hope that by selecting the NCT as one of my charities it has helped to raise awareness of the great support you give to parents in the area. Who knows, maybe one of the youngsters I have met during the year will one day wear the Mayor's chain themselves!”

Chris’ term of office ended on 10 May 2010 when our Chair, Sian and Deputy Chair, Colette were invited to the Town Hall to receive a cheque for the year's fundraising activities.  We were thrilled to be told that the total raised was around £4000 - which meant a cheque for £1435 for our NCT Branch!  How wonderful!
